MagicDo you believe in magic?

I do.

Life is filled with little magical moments if we only take the time to notice them. Change our focus just a bit and magic appears.

Recently, my daughter and I watched the movie The Rise of the Guardians. We both loved it by the way. It’s all about magic. It’s about the magic of believing in something that doesn’t make logical sense.

Its a story about Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Boogie Man. Basically, some of our modern day myths. It is the classic theme of good versus evil with the Boogie Man representing evil and instilling fear where there once was wonder, fun, dreams and belief in something magical.

Myths have always been a way to impart important messages to people. We think of myths as being untrue, but historically they were a way of helping people make sense of their world. Movies often fill in as our modern day myths, telling stories to impart a message or moral.

The main message of this story is: What you believe in is real.

Let me say that again.

What you believe in is real.

I was struck by how pertinent this is to life and how much all of us can take this message to heart.

When we are filled with fear and believe that thing we fear really exists, IT WILL EXIST.

When we are filled with joy and wonder and believe our life is magical, IT WILL BE MAGICAL.

We will see in our everyday life what we believe to be there.

It’s like when you buy a new car and then you start seeing that same car everywhere. It’s where our attention goes. If you believe you are a victim in your world, that things are always happening TO you, that you just can’t get ahead, that life is hard. You know what, it’s true. Because that’s what you believe and you will see it will happen in your life.

On the other hand, when you start to see magic in your life, it snowballs, and magic begins to happen everywhere around you. You get that job promotion you wanted or you get a phone call from a friend you haven’t heard from in a while or perhaps you meet someone special just when you thought it would never happen. All you have to do is believe that it is possible.

So tell me, do you believe in magic?

Is your life reflecting your beliefs?

How does magic show up in your life?

Where in your life could you use a shift in beliefs?

And as always, if you need help finding the magic in your life, I’m available to help. You can contact me here to schedule a session.
